The conventional cancer treatments are large unsatisfactory, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy kill both cancer and normal cell, and extend patients life for 1-3 years only. Viral vectors are studied as the most efficient carriers of tumor suppressors to treat cancer, however they are limited due to safety concerns. Our project develop non-viral nanovectors for gene transduction, and novel pathway of cancer therapy without harming normal cells, will address unmet medical need and public health.
